ghd Holds Taster Evenings for Inspiring Education Opportunities

Share

Stylists from across the UK gathered at the ghd studio on Dean Street to get a taste for two incredible educational programmes: the ghd style squad™ and the ghd graduate styling programme.

Hosted by Jo Robertson, global head of education, and Zoë Irwin, UK brand ambassador, the eager audience were treated to demonstrations, presentations and motivation from ghd’s finest creative educators.

The first taster evening gave delegates an idea of what being on the style squad entails, whether it’s right for them and what can be expected. Memories of the 2015 style squad’s accomplishments and successes were shared with the audience, referring to the incredible events and opportunities that squad members partake in. A presentation jam-packed full of inspiration and visuals was presented by the education team and covered all opportunities given to the ghd style squad. Global head of education, Jo Robertson, praised the attributes of this programme aimed at stylists between 18 and 21 before sharing the invaluable skills that the team acquire throughout the year.

Chris Southern (Headmasters), a 2014 style squad member said,

My year with the ghd style squad opened so many doors, introduced me to some of my idols and gave me an amazing insight in to how big and diverse the hairdressing industry is. I'm excited for the rest of my career thanks to ghd!

At the graduate styling programme taster evening, the education team demonstrated an array of the stunning styles that are learnt and implemented throughout the eight month programme. ghd graduate styling programme alumnus, Chad Maxwell (Elaje Hair and Beauty, Cambridge) and ghd styling programme graduate, spoke to the audience about his experience,

I would recommend this course to everyone and anyone. The knowledge and skills I’ve learnt over my time on the programme have been incredible, and even my clients have been notably impressed with my new styling skills. It’s great to have these taster evenings to give people an idea of what is expected both from ghd and from the individuals taking part.

Jo Robertson says,

The taster evenings were incredibly successful, the turnout was great and we’re thrilled with the interest and encouragement from potential candidates. These two opportunities that ghd offer are irreplaceable and embrace learning that isn’t available anywhere else. They are unique programmes and I’m really looking forward to where we take our ghd education platforms in the future…watch this space!
