Salon owner and hairdresser, Emma Holt from Bcreative Hair in Taunton, Somerset, has recently raised £200 for The Hair & Beauty Charity through selling sweets to her customers and allowing them to place their painted handprint on her wall.

Alongside her charity fundraiser for the Hair & Beauty Charity, Emma also opens her salon several times a year to the homeless and less fortunate, providing them with sleeping bags, toiletries, food and haircuts. Emma says:

After attending the charity ball, my colleagues and I thought our industry charity was a worthy cause and we wanted to support and fundraise for them. I believe when you can give back, you should always do so; you never know when you may need help yourself. As a salon, our goal is to make a difference to people’s lives not just by creating beautiful hair, but by creating smiles too. My amazing team and I aren’t just hairdressers to our clients, we provide advice, give confidence, kindness and supply them with tea, coffee and biscuits! In return my clients support our salon and the charities we help.

The Hair & Beauty Charity, formerly known as The Hairdressers Charity, is recognised as the official charity of the industry and was established in 1853. The Hair & Beauty Charity is dedicated to supporting hair and beauty professionals in need. It offers financial support to individuals and their families facing difficult time due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, bereavement and financial hardship.

Co-President of The Hair & Beauty Charity, Samantha Grocutt from Essence PR comments:

Emma’s fundraising efforts have been wonderful, we are so grateful for her enthusiasm and support of the charity. We hope that others can see Emma’s fundraising efforts and be inspired to do something similar within their salons too.
