F.A.M.E. Team 2020 Embark on a Year of Mentoring

Share

Taking their first steps on the road to fame, the Fellowship for British Hairdressing’s 2020 F.A.M.E. Team recently enjoyed their first mentoring session of the year with Project Leader, Jamie Stevens.

The team were reunited at Jamie’s London salon – the first time they were all together since the team was announced at the Fellowship Luncheon and Awards in December. For the all-important debut session, the team were given an overview of the year by Jamie – the guest mentors they have in store, the events planned and the areas which they will be working on.

Kick-starting their experience, Jamie also spent time working on presentation skills and some team-building exercises to help the group mesh and find out more about one another. Team member, Casey Coleman said:

As soon as I got there, it was like seeing a bunch of mates I hadn’t seen for a little while. At the end of the day, I think we would all agree that we felt much more of a unit and are so excited to showcase what we’re going to do this year. We already have a few tricks up our sleeves, and we can’t wait to show everybody what it really means to be part of the F.A.M.E. Team!

Our first session was really about getting to know each other, getting to know what we all want out of this experience and getting to know Jamie too. It was a pretty amazing day because Jamie has so much experience, so we were all over the moon when we found out what we’ll be doing for the rest of the year. Sometimes, when somebody as big as Jamie is in the same room as you, it can be daunting, but he made it very clear that he is just human, has the same worries as we do and still feels nervous before going on stage, and I think that really helped us all.
