HAHA held their annual student showcase on 4th February 2020 at the glorious Queens Hotel, Southsea, and was sponsored by Portsmouth College and Wonderful Life Hair and Beauty Suppliers.
The event saw 30 students take part in colour, bridal and fantasy categories, and with weeks of preparation from the students and educators, the night was a great success. Judges included members from the Milkshake and Affinage education teams, an award-winning bridal expert, and the owner of London Academy Salons - all of whom were greatly impressed with the work of our students - as well as 150plus spectators.
These events are not part of HAHA’s curriculum, but as a training academy they feel it is important to showcase the creativity of their students and give them a taste of something different from day to day hairdressing.
We find that by competing in the showcase it builds morale amongst the students and gives them a real buzz, as well as building their confidence.
Each year HAHA choose a charity that they raise money for throughout the year, with this year’s being, Friends Fighting Cancer - a local charity who support local people battling cancer. The event also fell on World Cancer Day, so HAHA decided to also raise some money to support this charity too.
It was a great evening which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Next year we hope to do it on a larger scale and raise even more money.
