Hair & Vision Hits Cardiff

Share

The Fellowship for British Hairdressing headed to the home of #MrPresident, Ken Picton, for their latest Hair & Vision event.

Joining host Ken in the Welsh capital on the night was a star-studded line-up of talent both local and national, as well as special guest, Jamie Stevens, who was interviewed about his career and life with the Fellowship.

Hosted at the Cornerstone converted chapel in Cardiff, the night saw guest artists create their model looks on podiums throughout the venue, creating an intimate environment that allowed guests to ask questions, take pictures and really get a good look at the techniques being showcased in front of them.

Representing Ken Picton Salon, Zoe Williams presented two colourful looks in coral and aquamarine, combining intricate cuts with added details made from hair wefts which had been crocheted for texture. Tia Liddiard from Jason Liddiard created contrasting looks; one bright red style with frizzed-out lengths, and a sharp, bold, blunt bob.

Local boy, Ian Davies from Ocean Hairdressing, also played with contrasts. One model sported dressed out, super-textured curls and braids, while the other was all about Ian’s intricate cutting skills with a sharp, detailed crop. Danilo Giangreco from Danilo Hair Boutique presented models with pastel-toned hair; one with long, loose pink waves and the other with a short, sharp bleached and toned crop.

Then, it was time to catch up with Jamie Stevens, whose career has been supported by the Fellowship since his earliest days on the F.A.M.E. Team. Ken quizzed Jamie about his career, goals, inspirations and challenges, for an insightful look back at the exciting world of one of British hairdressing’s greats.

Casey Coleman from Chair Salons showed his Femmetron model collection, with two strong, detailed-focused looks; one featuring a reverse crown bride and the other with a bound ponytail. Noel Halligan from NOCO was inspired by steam punk for his look, which combined braids with bold, pink, flashes of colour.

Finally, Luke Hakwins from the Marvellous Hair Company put what he has learnt as part of the Fellowship’s Barber Project to good use with two gent’s looks, showcasing both barbering skills and long hair cutting.
