In our series of personal blogs looking at the 2019 enjoyed by some of our members, we invited the first ever Nation’s Favourite Hairdresser, Kelly Shone-Adams to look back over the last 12 months.

This included a trip to Colour World with Good Salon Guide as the Nation’s Favourite Hairdresser and overseeing the handing over of her title to another Welsh hairdresser, Rhys Andrews. Once again, a huge thank you to Kelly for being the best Ambassador we could have ever asked for. Now let’s hear from the wonderful Kelly...

As 2019 draws to a close it's very much a time for me to reflect on the year and all its accomplishments we have had as a team. Entering the year as Good Salon Guide's first Nation's Favourite Hairdresser winner, and being given the wonderful opportunity to not only showcase my work and sit on the colour panel of experts at Colour World London alongside the best in the industry, but to have the honour of choosing three others to do so with me. And also to have my work and name featured in the programme.

It's been a busy year as the UK brand ambassador for MOOD hair colour, as the brand is rapidly expanding across the UK with an ever growing MOOD family. My work is regularly shared globally on social platforms and has also been published several times. This is still something I'm bewildered by. I'm also very proud of our future generation of hairdressers, and I am currently very lucky to have two talented individuals, Georgia and Robyn, who work tirelessly and with such passion alongside me. Their work is consistent and they're definitely future stars in the making!

It's always been vitally important to myself and my business to be part of the Good Salon Guide for many reasons, one of which is for my clients and potential clients to know that they will be receiving a recognised standard of service and work from a qualified expert in the field of hairdressing! One of the heart warming things for me is the friendships I have made along the way with the team and many other GSG members - it's very much a community. I stand by the ethos: "It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice".

2020 for Technocracy hair will be very much about expanding and educating the team to meet the needs of our ever growing client base. I shall also be looking to offer bespoke colour education to fellow stylists, as it's something I'm increasingly asked for and I would love to be able to share my knowledge and experience.
