Celebrating one year in business gave salon owner Teresa Weller the opportunity to say thank you to her clients, as well as raising funds for a local charity.

Teresa and her Creative Director, Egidio Sala threw open the doors of Teresa Weller Hair Art salon in Dorking High Street and welcomed both clients, hair industry friends and representatives from The Children’s Trust based in Tadworth.

Having established herself as one of the most sought after stylists in the region; one year ago Teresa decided it was time to open her own boutique salon in the centre of the busy town. She said:

I just felt the time was right. I had built up a great reputation within the area, had lots of clients and was in demand, particularly for bridal hair.

Teaming up with Egidio - who had worked at lots of West End salons and also had a loyal clientele - made the move to the new salon a no brainer and, within weeks, the team had established themselves as a go-to salon destination. Teresa added:

It’s been a whirlwind. We have been inundated with old and new clients and to top it off I have just won the Best Bridal Hairdresser award at the Surrey Salon Awards!

The chance to say thank you with an anniversary party was too good a chance to miss and Teresa felt supporting The Children’s Trust would be a great way to give back to the community into which she has been so warmly welcomed.

Karen Phillips, Community Fund Raising manager (South East) for the charity said:

What a great night we had celebrating the salon’s first anniversary whilst raising an amazing £410 from the raffle for the Children’s Trust.

The charity’s ambition is that all children with brain injuries and neuro-disability have the opportunity to live the best life possible. The money raised from this event will go a long way to help.

Many thanks also to the teams from Revlon and Trebbly who supported the event.
