WELOVE Launches British HairPro Awards

WELOVE, the education creative developed by award-winning stylist and educator, Rae Palmer, has announced the launch of the inaugural British HairPro Awards with support from Habia and The Hair & Barber Council.

The prestigious awards, which aim to recognise and celebrate excellence, innovation, and professionalism within the hair industry while also promoting industry standards and continuous learning, will feature a wide range of categories that cover various aspects of the profession, including stylists, colourists and educators.

The awards are open to hair pros from across the United Kingdom and entries will be reviewed by a distinguished panel of judges, comprising of industry experts and educators. The judging process will consider criteria such as technical skill, creativity, innovation, client satisfaction, and adherence to industry standards.

Rae Palmer, Founder of WELOVE, said: “I’m so delighted to collaborate with HABIA and the Hair & Barber Council as it allows us to leverage the collective knowledge and experience of these influential bodies to create an awards ceremony that celebrates the incredible skills and innovative work of British hair pros, while also further promoting a culture of excellence and growth within the UK hair industry. These are the first ever awards created by HairPros, for HairPros.”

There are seven award categories:

  • HairPro of the Year 23/24
  • Purple Heart HairPro
  • Master HairPro Creative & Commercial Stylist
  • Master HairPro Creative & Commercial Colourist
  • Master HairPro CCH (Creative Commercial HairPro)
  • Master HairPro Educator
  • Master HairPro Art Director

Joan Scott, CEO of Habia said: “Habia are delighted to be working with WELOVE and the Hair & Barber Council to promote registration, regulated qualifications, and the need to undertake CPD which is the sign of a true professional. We're excited to see the launch of the new industry awards showcasing the work of fantastic hair professionals.”

“The Hairdressing Council believe in the importance of training, not just at qualification but throughout a hairdresser’s working life and are delighted to support the work WELOVE is doing with CPD training and registering all One Heart Members with the Hairdressing Council,” added Gareth Penn, Registrar for The Hair & Barber Council.

Entries for the awards close on May 18th and the finalists and winners will be celebrated at a prestigious ceremony at Eversholt Hall, a stunning venue in the heart of the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside, on 18th June.
