Great Lengths UK Educators take New York Fashion Week

Share

Fresh from Haute Couture, The Great Lengths UK and Ireland Education team joined hair mastermind, Beppe D’elia and the Beautik for New York Fashion Week.

Louise Jenkins, Education and Creative Manager for Great Lengths UK & Ireland and Educator, Kirby Blythe were joined by two more members of the Education team, Edwina Hayes and Nicky Marcar. Great Length’s educators have been relaying the brand message and course contents to delegates during their training courses, and now it was time to apply that knowledge and expertise backstage!

The team assisted on two shows, the first was for Pamella Rolland F/W 2020. For this show, they created elegant and stylish looks that oozed femininity, matched perfectly with the beautiful range of evening gowns. Creating the ultimate evening look, Kirby Blythe comments,

All the models for this show had a deep section parting on the left and a soft tonged wave, we used the Great Lengths wooden brushes to brush through the hair creating a silky and shiny sheen. We applied Great Lengths hair pieces which have been bespoke made for fashion week, pinned back the sides and set in place with hairspray. Once the girls were in the line-up before the show was about to begin, with a wide tooth comb we combed through the wave to ensure it looked glossy, natural and runway ready!

The second show was Custo Barcelona, the team assisted again in creating bespoke looks that worked well with the new designs they were showcasing. Edwina Hayes comments,

For this show it was all about texture and looking undone, yet natural. We used products to add volume at the root, creating a wet look. Short and long styles incorporated this same style and texture, and the finished look worked so well with the style of clothes.
