R+Co ELECTRIC HOUSE: The Biggest Night in Hair

Share

The future of hair is... forward-thinking... past-appreciative... visionary... ELECTRIC HOUSE

Sunday night’s exclusive evening of hairdressing education, inspiration and outrageous theatrics shared what happens when the foundations of the past meet the techniques and skills of the future. Taking place at Stage 48 in NYC, guests were treated to a surprise performance from superstar composer and pianist, Chloe Flower - who has performed with the likes of Cardi B at the Grammys. Chloe opened the show while R+Co's newest guest collective member, Danielle Priano, styled her hair. Danielle created her famous face lift pony snatch while Chloe performed, kicking off the night.

The event continued and was led by R+Co's Co-Founders, Garren, Howard McLaren and Thom Priano alongside The Collective's Ashley Streicher and special guests as they took to the stage to demonstrate visionary cutting, styling and grooming in an unforgettable, immersive hairstyling and entertainment experience. Looks included the bride and groom of the future by Garren, red carpet deconstructed to street style by Ashley, razor cutting for a punk rock look by Howard, and concluded with men’s cutting and styles by Thom.

Set amongst an eclectic and eccentric backdrop of dance and music, the show was immensely experiential with incorporation of aerialists and contortionists. Attendees were also welcome to purchase R+Co merch at their branded 'Pro Shop', as well as get their hair touched up with R+Co products at small vanities. Those that attended not only left with a gift bag of R+Co's newest and latest formulas, but also with inspiration for hair looks of the future.

Electric House Red Carpet Deconstruction by Ashley Streicher

  1. Start by applying extensions to the hair and cutting them into a clavicle length bob
  2. Starting at the nape of the neck, take 1 1/2 inch sections and begin curling the hair
  3. Spray each section with OUTER SPACE Flexible Hairspray for added hold
  4. Once the entire head is curled, section out the very top and brush into a big pin-curl to cool on top of the head
  5. Once cooled, brush out the curls while also back-combing the hair gently and spraying each section from roots to ends with BALLOON Dry Volume Spray
  6. Brush hair back and spray VICIOUS Strong Hold Flexible Hairspray around the hairline
  7. Pin the hairline into place while carefully brushing through the rest of the silhouette for a smoothed out but voluminous finish
  8. Remove all clips and apply one last mist of BALLOON Dry Volume Spray around the hairline
  9. Finish by spraying OUTER SPACE Flexible Hairspray all over the hair

Electric House Bride & Groom of the Future by Garren

  1. Start by washing hair with DALLAS Biotin Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner for added vitality
  2. Apply a dollop of RODEO STAR Thickening Style Foam and a mist of SAIL Soft Wave Spray for maximum volume
  3. Flip hair upside down and loosely blow-dry using fingers to lift the roots
  4. Flip hair back and separate into one inch sections. Start from the back of the head and spray each section with VICIOUS Strong Hold Flexible Hairspray from roots to ends. While hair is still damp, use a crimping iron to begin styling the hair. Line up each crimp every time you move through a one inch section of hair
  5. Repeat the previous step until the entire head of hair is crimped
  6. Do not brush or comb through the hair
  7. Create a French twist by looping hair at the crown. Take side sections from the temple and twist up towards the crown area
  8. Loop any loose pieces of hair behind the french twist you’ve created
  9. Take the final front side crimped sections of hair and roll inwards to the top of the head creating a rockabilly affect to complete the look
  10. Create a halo of angel hair by pulling and separating the hair using fingers
  11. Spray the entire head with OUTER SPACE Flexible Hairspray
  12. Take the look to the next level with a pink bow or any accessory fit for the occasion
